Racing Experts Back Baboshka as Top Pick for Deauville Card Tuesday

EXPERT PREDICTIONS TAKE SHAPE FOR DEAUVILLE-LA TOUQUES RACING ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 11

Baboshka leads the expert consensus heading into Tuesday’s eight-race card at the Deauville-La Touques hippodrome, drawing 105 points from specialist handicappers ahead of the August 11 program. The Quinte jackpot race, the marquee event of the day, is set to begin at 18h30, with the full card running exclusively on the PSF racing surface.

Two other horses have drawn significant expert attention. See the Light, entered in race six at 17h13 for the Carrefour Deauville-Touques Prix de Surville, follows Baboshka with 70 points. Hello Master, competing in race five at 16h38 for the Prix du Chateau de Miromesnil, rounds out the top three with 65 points. Baboshka herself runs in race one at 14h18 in the Prix d’Ablon, giving the afternoon an early focal point.

The expert teams competing in the prediction contest include E. Armand paired with P-M. Rimbert, and T. Bernier paired with E. Rivron. Each day, teams select one winning choice from among their recommended horses, and that designation carries real weight: it determines how bonus points are calculated.

The scoring system ties directly to official PMU betting returns. A first-place finish earns one point. A first-place horse winning with the second-place pick finishing second yields two points. When the second-place selection wins and the first finishes second, one point is awarded. If the first-place choice is scratched but the second-place horse wins, the team still receives one point.

Beyond those base scores, the winning selection category offers supplementary points equal to the combined simple win and simple place PMU returns when a selected horse wins outright. If the horse places without winning, teams receive supplementary points matching the simple place payout alone. An additional “exploit” bonus applies when a team is the only expert group to predict a winning horse or combination in a given race, doubling those points entirely.
